The Wesley Foundation at the College of William and Mary
Having been active in the Wesley Foundation during my college years, I was thrilled when my campus minister called me up and asked for my help. They were looking for a site where they could reach out to new students as well as keep their existing community informed on the many activities they have. Their desire was to have it easy for multiple users to update their own areas, without anyone needing to learn many new skills.
The biggest success was the blog. In early January, the Wesley Foundation sent a team to the Middle East. Each day the team would write reflections of their daily journey and post pictures of it. The families back home logged onto the site multiple times each day to check on their loved ones and share comments on the blog.
- Calendar, with upcoming events on the home page
- YouTube videos and Photo Albums
- Missions blog
- Searchable Bible with weekly scripture readings, verse of the day
- Wired Proverbs (randomly selected Proverb)
- Permissions-based access to protected information (for Board of Directors)
- Users can easily update their respective content sections
Please note the students are responsible for updating the site; as they are out of session for the summer months, the site may not display many activities during this time.
